Gestern ist Rossi mit der Superbike WM Yamaha R1 in Misano unterwegs gewesen – nach einer absurd kurzen Verletzungspause für jemanden, der sich gerade den Unterschenkel gebrochen hatte…

Finished test.. 10 + 14 laps. Vale made a good job. Still some pain and now he knows more how to get better… Lap time was not so bad too!

VALENTINO ROSSI COMPLETES TEST AT MISANO

Fiat Yamaha Team rider Valentino Rossi today rode a motorcycle for the first time since breaking his right leg at Mugello on 5th June. He rode a total of 26 laps at Misano on a YZF-R1 WSB machine, provided by the Yamaha World Superbike Team, and recorded a best time of 1′38.200.

Rossi did an initial run of 11 laps at 18.30 CET with a best time of 1′41.000, then a second run of 15 laps at 19.45 CET with a best time of 1′38.200 (unofficial times).

The reigning World Champion was able to ride well but he had some pain in his leg and his shoulder. He will now continue with an updated rehabilitation programme and make a decision within the next week as to whether he will ride at the German Grand Prix at Sachsenring, in ten days time.

“We made this test in order to understand how we must work from here and to see more or less how I can ride the bike,” said Rossi. “The test was positive, because I can at least ride, but there is a lot more to a MotoGP race than to a test like this one. I had some pain in the ankle, the knee and the shoulder, but above all I lacked strength in the shoulder and a bit of movement in the ankle. I would really like to come back at Sachsenring, but it is still too early to say. We still have twelve days and we must wait and see how much we can improve my condition in the next few days. The Superbike today was good and great fun to ride! I really would like to ride at Sachsenring, but we must wait another week before making a decision.”

In diesem Falle lag die Gerüchteküche also doch richtig: Nun hat auch Yamaha Racing bestätigt, dass Valentino Rossi heute in Misano mit einer Yamaha YFZ R1 (eine Maschine des Yamaha World Superbike Teams) einen ersten Test durchführen wird. Man will insbesondere sehen, ob der Doctor nach dem schweren Sturz und seiner Operation schon wieder fit genug ist, um auf ein Motorrad zu steigen.

Man weiss ja selber: Genau die Belastungen vom Motorradfahren kann man schwerlich simulieren – die spürt man eben nur auf der Maschine

Valentino Rossi will ride a Yamaha YZF-R1 at a private test in Misano, Italy this afternoon. The Italian has made an excellent recovery so far since breaking his leg at Mugello on 5th June and he has decided to proceed with the test ride today in order to better understand his current physical condition. Riding a racing motorcycle will help Valentino and his doctors to plan the next stage of his rehabilitation programme in order that he may return to racing as soon as he feels confident to do so.

The test will take place using a YZF-R1 WSB machine provided by the Yamaha World Superbike Team to the Fiat Yamaha Team. Yamaha will inform the media later today of the results of the test and of Valentino’s condition.

Schade aber auch – das Flugverbot wegen des Ausbruch des Eyjafjallajökull (Wikipedia Link) betrifft nun auch die MotoGP Teams und Fans. Gut, nach dem Flugchaos der letzten Tage ist es kein großes Wunder mehr, schließlich hätten die Teams regulär heute bzw. morgen gen Japan fliegen müssen.

Das MotoGP Rennen in Motegi / Japan ist nun verschoben worden, da weiterhin in weiten Teilen Europas Flugverbot herrscht und somit Mensch & Material nicht verläßlich termingerecht nach Japan kommen können.

Am heutigen Montag (19.04.) soll voraussichtlich die offizielle Meldung der Dorna mit einem Ausweichtermin kommen – bisher meldet die Gerüchteküche, dass es auf den 1.-3. Oktober (also kurz vor den Rennen in Malaysia / Sepang und Australien / Philipp Island) hinauslaufen wird.

Gut ist die Verschiebung natürlich vor allem für Valentino Rossi, der sich jüngst bei einem Motocross-Unfall einige Prellung zugezogen hatte: Er kann sich nun in Ruhe auskurieren.

The recent vulcano eruption in Iceland has resulted in an ash cloud cover infiltration. Air traffic space over Europe has stopped all international travel in and out of Europe.

This case of ‘force majeure’ has obliged the Grand Prix Permanent Bureau composed of the FIM President Vito Ippolito and Dorna C.E.O. Carmelo Ezpeleta, with the agreement of the Grand Prix Promoter, Mobilityland Corporation, to postpone the Grand Prix of Japan planned on 25 April 2010.

The Grand Prix Permanent Bureau proposed equally to the FIM to reschedule the Grand Prix of Japan on 3 October 2010.

Ich verstehe das ja nicht, nein es will mir nicht in den Kopf. Da bekommen die Herren MotoGP Profis Millionenverträge dafür, dass sie auf der Rennstrecke ihr Bestes geben – und dann schrotten die Jungs sich regelmäßig bei privatem Cross-Fahren, teilweise auch bei PR-Events und bei irgendwelchen Hobbies die Knochen.

Nicht nur Jorge Lorenzo, der sich neulich beim Minibike fahren verletzte, nun auch Rossi (der zum Glück nur Prellungen hat und daher wohl starten können wird), früher auch mal Alex Hofmann, die Liste lässt sich endlich fortsetzen.

Wer auch immer die Verträge aushandelt, sollte sich mal ein Beispiel an den Juristen der Fußballclubs nehmen: Wer dort unterschreibt, bestätigt auch gleichzeitig seinen Verzicht auf Sportarten und Freizeitaktivitäten, welche die Einsatzfähigkeit beim Profisport beeinträchtigen könnten.

Irgendwie ist das arg unprofessionell – und mich interessiert auch nicht, ob ein Herr Rossi, Lorenzo oder so am Wochende Spass beim Crossen hat: Ich will, dass die Jungs auf der MotoGP Maschine ihr Möglichstes abliefern – dafür zahlen die Sponsoren, dafür zahlen die Fans.
